Privacy Policy

Currently is a period and cycle tracker made for teens. It is operated by Currently INC (“we”, “us”). This policy says exactly what the app collects, where it goes, and how you get rid of it. We wrote it in plain words on purpose.

The short version: your cycle stays yours. We do not sell it, we do not show ads, the app has no trackers in it, and you can delete everything from inside the app.

What the app collects

• An account, without an email or password. When you first open Currently, the app creates an anonymous account with a random ID so your logs can be saved. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number or date of birth. If you choose to give the app a name to greet you by, that name is stored on your account.
• Save your account with Apple (optional). You can attach Sign in with Apple to your account so you can get your data back on a new phone. We request no name and no email from Apple; we store only the identifier Apple gives us for your account.
• What you log. Period days and flow, when a period ended, daily check-ins (cramps, mood, energy and similar), and any notes you write. Optional answers from the first run, such as whether your cycle is usually regular.
• Your chats with the buddy. The messages you type to the in-app buddy and its replies are stored on your account so you can reopen past chats. You can delete any chat.
• Partner sharing (optional). If you create an invite code and someone redeems it, we store that link so they can see your current cycle day and when your next period is expected. They never see your symptoms, notes, flow or chats. You can stop sharing at any time and access ends immediately.
• Your colour and background. The accent and backdrop you pick are saved on your account, so they come back with it on a new phone. Whether you have finished the first run, and whether you agreed to chat with the buddy, stay on your phone.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers. The app has no analytics or crash-reporting software in it.

Where your data goes

• Supabase hosts our database and sign-in service. Your logs are stored there, encrypted in transit and at rest, in a database where every row is locked to the account that wrote it.
• Anthropic provides the AI behind the buddy. When you send a message in the buddy chat, that message and the earlier turns of the same chat are sent to Anthropic to write the reply. Nothing else is sent: not your calendar, your symptoms, your notes or your name. The app tells you this and asks you before your first message. Deleting a chat removes it from our servers; Anthropic handles what was already sent under its own data policy, and its terms for the service we use do not allow our messages to be used to train its models. We also keep a count of how many buddy messages your account sends each day, to enforce the daily limit; the count has no message text in it and is deleted with your account.
• Apple, only if you choose Sign in with Apple, as described above.

That is the whole list for the app. We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, schools, or anyone else, and we do not use health data for advertising of any kind. If you share your cycle with someone, the name you give them in the app (for example “Mom”) is stored with the invite and shown to that person.

What you control

Everything below is in the app under Me → Settings. No email needed, no waiting.

• Export my data downloads everything you have logged as a readable file.
• Delete all my logs removes every period, check-in and note and keeps your account.
• Delete my account removes your account and all of its data from our servers.
• Stop sharing ends a partner’s access at once.
• Delete a chat removes that conversation with the buddy.

Data you delete is removed from our live database immediately. Our hosting provider keeps encrypted backups for a limited time for disaster recovery, after which deleted data is gone from those too.

Age

Currently is for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, write to us and we will delete it.

Not medical advice

Predictions, phase information and the buddy’s answers are general information to help you understand your cycle. They are not a diagnosis and not a substitute for a doctor. If something worries you, talk to a doctor or an adult you trust.

The website and waitlist

Joining the early-access waitlist on this site collects your first name, email and a couple of optional questions, used only to tell you about early access. You can unsubscribe from any email. The waitlist form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots and Resend to send the confirmation email.

This website (not the app) uses PostHog to count page views so we can see which pages are read. It is set to work without cookies, does not record what you type, respects your browser’s Do Not Track setting, and is not connected to any app account.

Changes

If we change what the app collects or where it goes, we will update this page and the effective date above, and the app will tell you before any new kind of sharing begins.
